30 Miles of Paddling

On Veteran's Day, we paddled down the Colorado River. The only problem is that the river quickly turned into Lake Mohave. We only had about 1 mile of the current that was supposed to help us. So, we ended up paddling all 30 miles, pulling in to our camp site about an hour after dark.

If you Google "Lake Mohave, NV", you can see our route. We put our canoes in at Willow Beach. We paddled to the last cove, just before it hooks around into the main lake area. Here is a picture I took from inside the Monkey Hole, which is marked on the Google map, about 4 miles downstream from Willow Beach.

Halloween 2011

We have had a lot of people move in to the neighborhood this year. I spent some time organizing a block party so we could get to know everyone.

I only did two pumpkins this year. They didn't turn out all that well. They are 'Tangled' themed; one is Rapunzel swinging on her hair, and the other is the chameleon looking at Eugene.
